XS Typing pricing and payments
Our transcription services are priced according to the turnaround time you require and the length of your audio recording. Work is priced Per Recorded Minute (PRM) and rounded up or down to the nearest minute for all part-minutes.
Our transcription prices are:
Economy – 5 business days
£0.90
Ideal if your timeframe is flexible – upload your file on Monday and you will have your transcribed document back the following Monday.
Regular – 2 business days
£1.10
Perfect if you don’t need immediate turnaround but can’t wait a full week.
Rush – 1 business day
£1.30
This option makes sure your transcribed document is with you by the end of the following business day.
Immediate – 4 hours
£2.50
For a 4 hour turnaround, files must be uploaded by 1pm. Files uploaded after 1pm will be transcribed and delivered by 9am the following business morning.
These are our standard prices and turnaround times, but if you require anything different, say 2 hours, we will do everything we can to meet your requirements, assuming your recordings are of sufficient quality.
For all files in excess of two audio hours please call us to discuss our availability to ensure that we can adhere to the above turnarounds.
For complex recording, the following prices will be added if applicable:
Audio Quality
- Difficult audio.
- Poor quality recording.
- Hard to understand accents.
- Focus groups.
- Background noise.
Plus: 30p PRM.
There are additional charges for transcriptions of larger meetings/gatherings where multiple people are speaking:
5 – 8 people speaking
Plus: 30p PRM.
9 – 15 people speaking
Plus: 60p PRM.
16+ people speaking
Plus: 90p PRM.
Copy typing
For copy typing of handwritten documents, charges are from £10.00 per 1,000 words for the regular 2 day turnaround.For recordings over two audio hours, a deposit of 25% is required in advance.
Invoices will be issued prior to the completion of each job and we require full cleared funds to be made prior to the completed work being released.

XS Typing reserve the right to charge interest on overdue amounts at a rate of 8% above the Bank of England base rate. This fee will be charged on the outstanding balance from the date of the invoice until the date of payment.
